The Look: Water Ripples in Metal

SE Water Ripple No.8 as a Decorative Element

SE Water Ripple No.8 brings the movement of water to walls and ceilings. The stainless steel sheet is embossed with an irregular ripple pattern and mirror-polished. The result is the liquid-metal effect that is currently in high demand in interior design, bathroom design and shop fitting: light refracts in the ripples, and the surface appears lively and deep depending on the viewing angle.
Unlike many decorative panels made of aluminium or laminate, Water Ripple No.8 is genuine stainless steel. The standard grade is 1.4301, and 1.4404 is available on request. The sheets come in widths of 1250 and 1500 mm and lengths of up to 6000 mm, so even large wall areas can be clad with only a few joints.

The Surface

The ripple pattern consists of individual dimples measuring 50 to 120 mm in size and 2 to 6 mm in pattern depth. With the Mirror No.8 finish, the result is a mirror-like gloss in which the room and light are reflected in waves. With the Hairline finish, the water ripple look appears calmer and more matte.
In the trade, you will find this look under many names: Water Ripple, Liquid Metal, water ripple sheet, water ripple metal, rippled metal or ripple metal. They all refer to an embossed metal sheet with a wavy, reflective surface.

Some of the German names (Wasserwellenblech, Wasserwellmetall, Rippelmetall) translate to near-identical English terms, so I’ve used the variants English buyers actually search for. If the text is meant for SEO, you could also add “hammered stainless steel” or “water ripple stainless steel sheet”.

Einsatzbereiche
